Knock sensors generally don't cause drive-ability problems. It is possible for an overly sensitive knock sensor to pick up noise that is normal and cause the engine controller to retard ignition timing, but that won't set a knock sensor code. If you suspect a knock sensor is falsely causing the computer to retard ignition timing, unplug the knock sensor connector and see if your problem goes away. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
