lug nuts

I bought used tires at a local tire station. They did not tell me that my lug nuts did not match my studs. The nits came loose within a week and one stud broke. The mechanic made a lot of different excusesand i am now suing him. I had to have a new wheek put on and new lugs and nuts. In Michigan is it the responsibility of the service center to tell me I have the wrong lug and stud combination?

This site isn't the "Judge Judy" show so you are on your own. If these were all wrong when a shop got the car it would be nice to have informed you of that IF THEY WERE NOTICED. What was the real problem? Left loose, wrong threaded but forced on from a previos place and wouldn't hold again? It's really too bad that you can't work something out to get them all fixed and matching. Where was the mix up to begin with? T
