map sensor Sign In

I have a 2002 c32 amg mercedes. When I would accelerate hard it would go in limp mode, but was still able to be used for normal driving. I got the obd code p0108 so I changed the map sensor (twice cause I was told part was still bad). Now the car is not running at all right. It idles rough, smokes unburnt fuel out of the exhaust, and dies if you give it gas sometimes. I have checked for exhaust leaks and still getting code p0108. Look forward to reading replies.

Re: map sensor Sign In

Having a code for a component doesn't mean that component is bad. It merely means there is an issue in the circuit somewhere that still needs to be determined.

The first step is to check out the vacuum supply that it is intact and has no leakage before moving to electrical.

Re: map sensor Sign In

What is the MAP sensor's output voltage with the engine idling? Inspect the MAP sensor connector terminals and wiring for damage. Inspect the wiring near the connector really good. The copper can break inside the insulation, so do a tug test.
