Hi,
It isn't going to be that simple. You could start with the diagram found for the "strokes" of a four stroke (cycle) engine and a spark plug but it can't apply to all. The principles of "intake" - "compression" - "power" - "exhaust" are in almost all internal combustion engines. Now you have to factor that ignition isn't always by spark (diesel) and not all use pistons (rotary) - (turbine) and more and things get messy.
By far most automotive engines will be four stroke engines with more and more electrical controls and even electric motor(s) for power to drive as in hybrids. Not sure just what you want and need for this,
