Try to explain how it sounds....tick/squeal/knock/rattle? Give all the info you can... theres a lot of parts under the hood that could make a noise

O.k.....now the sound may be coming from (around) the engine....its more likely that you need to check the brakes/wheel bearings/cv joints......will it make that noise if you rev the engine? Just want to rule out spark knock/ or a loose heatsheild Its hard to pin point the problem when you can't see/hear the vehicle. Is this car an automantic?

if a heatshield was loose you would prob be able to hear it more when your stopped. like dave mentioned you still need to give more information as to when and how it happens. can you replicate the noise at will? certain speeds? is it a plasticy or metallic noise? while braking or no braking coasting or accelerating __________________________________________________ 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee 2002 Ford Ranger 2004 Toyota Corolla 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1

Post: well i took it to the shop and they said my rotors need replacing. how much does that cost ?? if you needed brakes you wouldnt be experiencing a rattle/tick noise. if you do need brakes you have two different issues going on. brake job cost varies depending on the extent of the brake job and the quality of parts being used __________________________________________________ 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee 2002 Ford Ranger 2004 Toyota Corolla 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1
