ive got a 94 4runner that has an oil leak. i use castrol synthetic and it seems like its a quart low at least every 2 weeks. once, i looked underneath and their was oil everywhere all spread around so i had no way of figuring out where it was leaking from. so should i be concerned about this? is there anything a person can really do about an oil leak other than to keep refilling it? i guess i just hate the idea of the parts down there that aren't supposed to be covered in oil, being covered in oil. thanks

Just replied to your smelling fuel post. Oil that gets on hot parts like exhaust makes the smell like rich exhaust. To find leak you may have to clean off the engine. Leaks are almost always the highest and furthest forward as the source where you find oil. This is also caused by excessive crankcase pressure when a pcv system cannot overcome blowby and when crankcase has pressure instead of slight vacuum oil will leak out of valve cover gaskets and about anything that is gasket sealed for oil, T
