hello, I have a 1996 oldsmobile bravada,awd, with a 4.3 v6 engine. i live up in pennsylvania and it gets pretty icy. the other day i was accelerating hard on ice and my car felt like it was fishtailing during acceleration. its awd so shouldnt it pull me in a direction it is a 35/65 (front/rear) split. thanks for all your help

There's nothing in any car that can re-think just what ice will do with traction. Nothing engineered into any of them can be any better than available grip between tire and road - the condition of road and tires counts the most. You can judge AWD better on uniform snow vs assorted ice conditions, T
