I have a 1992 honda accord that i have owned for seven years. Since I have owned this car I only gotten 15 miles per gallon over the road and around town. When I first purchased the honda I had a timing belt and water pump replacement.I purchased original honda parts such as distributor cap and rotor and spark plug wires. I change oil and filter every three thousand miles. Last year I chaged my own oil pan gasket filter I noticed sludge in the oil pan making me think who ever owned this vehicle before I did did not take care of the car. The car has 125,00 miles on it. I did a fuel pressure check along with fuel pressure regulator and they checked out okay.So any input where to go next is appreciated thanks.Incidently I just changed my o2 sensor it was setting a code 43. This o2 sensor was changed 5 months ago i wonder if this engines running rich and burned out the the new sensor?

Argg! I get that gas mileage out of an 89 Town Car! It depends a lot on driving conditions. All cars get "0" when sitting still. Sludge: An engine killer! Sounds like you've done your part. I've bought some cars that had sludge due to lack of common oil changes and it took time but I was able to clean one up with more frequent oil changes. I don't like the thought of the engine flush things - too fast. You wouldn't want chunks of junk loosening up all at once. Check the PCV system as you said you have had gasket problems? If blow by exceeds PCV ability the engine may be on the down side. Hope not. Good luck, Tom
