For the 5th time, my powerwindows in my 2000 Grand Cherokee Jeep will not work. This is expensive. Is there something I can try to do to fix it? I need to get the window up, but don't want to plop down another $500!!

My suggestion to try is to check on the window motor wires on the hot side for voltage if voltage is present you have a ground problem easiest solution is to cut the ground wire splice in a new wire and ground out on window motor where it bolts to the door then window should work. Now if no voltage is present look for fuses or relays. If fuses and relays are in good order trace down wire from the fuse or relay back to the window motor and look for either broken or exposed wires grounding out. Hope this helps.
