Hi there everyone it's a 2006 Mazda 3 and 2.0 engine, after I replace the rear brake shoes the brake works fine, but the emergency brake lever goes all the way up and it doesn't stop the car, need your advice.

Did it work with the old brakes? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Ya it was fine, but now it barley stops the car, like when I put it in neutral and let it go the car goes, the emergency brake doesn't stop it.

First understand this. That is a parking brake not an emergency brake. It is not supposed to stop the vehicle. If it's not holding the car from rolling on a slight incline, then you must have assembled something wrong.
