starter removal on a 2001 olds aurora v8

removing the starter on a 2001 oldsmobile aurora v8. having trouble locating it, been told under the intake manifold as well as infront of the engine behind rad above oilpan. can anyone possible make this job a little easier? there is a lot of stuff under this hood on this engine. im used to way less crap in the way.

The starter is under the intake manifold and the manifold has to be removed to access it. There is no easy way to do this.
