I have a 2016 toyota sienna. still under warranty. Noticed some strut leaking issue. Call dealer and he said the warranty only covers level 1, 2, and 3 leaking. If the leaking is level 4, the warranty does not cover and he needs to charge $210 for the inspection. Could someone help identify what level the leaking would be by looking at the attached pictures? sorry, there seems some issue in attached the original size image. please refer to Link deleted......not allowed

I have no idea what level 1,2 or 3 means. That is a designation that Toyota has created. To us, a leak is a leak. If that is the way they are going to treat you, then you probably need to get a different dealer. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Thank you very much for your replying. I do not have many choices regarding dealer in my area :(. The leak shown on http://autoforums.carjunky.com/...ic/467VPrI3/1470.jpg looks like level 3 to me by their definition, Am I correct? Level 1 - Entire strut is covered with oil (Replace shocks) Level 2 - Excess leak past the lower spring seat (Replace shocks) Level 3 - Slight leak past the lower spring seat (Replace shocks) Level 4 - Leaking up until the lower spring seat (No replacement needed) Level 5 - Slight leak (No replacement needed)

Yes, I would agree with you using those descriptions although I have never heard of such a ridiculous policy.

I have to chime in, THAT'S RIDICULOUS as said. It's not going to heal so is going to fail. Better yet scream for doing both sides they can't possible match exactly on how they work - you may lose that one but if you were just anyone, any brand of vehicle it would be suggested up to saying it would alter control of the thing!
