i recently had oilpan gasket replaced and now have a surging in rpms when driving this repair was done htwo days ago and now surging problem with rpm need advice on what is happening my car is a 1999 taurus and is a cream puff to me

In theory changing the oil pan gasket wouldn’t affect running?
That being said there is a possibility that something has become undone or popped off; as in an electrical connector or a vacuum line. They (whoever did the job) may have inadvertently left something off?
Go back and ask them to have a look; most shops appreciate a customer that asks questions; calm cool questions. LOL
Check engine light has it come on since this surging started?
It may not be anything that “they” have done at all but at times sensors don’t like to be disturbed? In this case possibly the O2 sensors; they had to be disconnected and removed with the exhaust system to get to the oil pan.
Then there’s that dreaded word that no customer likes and or believes; co incidents! No one’s at fault, it’s unfortunate but something else has failed?
