Sign In So I put a salvage motor on a 2000 grand am, ran great. Then, my bro overfilled the oil (way), and it smoked going up hill. he drained out the excess oil and it ran fine, then and now it runs, barely, but no smoke. total miles with overfilled oil was about 50 miles. Sign In Do you mean now it runs ok now and then (intermittently)?? An overfill that caused any problems is bad. If it didn't kill it you are lucky on that one.
