I'm getting the timing belt changed on my 2002 toyota tacoma with 115000 miles. They talked me into getting my water pump changed at the same time. Now they called me about changing a tension pulley that cost about 200 dollars. Am I getting fished?

No I don’t think your getting “fished” in here it’s not uncommon to find a worn or loose bearing in one of the idler pulleys or the tensioner pulley. There would be no way of telling if there was until the belt was off and the pulleys are allowed to freewheel to check it.
The only thing they could/should have done was maybe warn you that this was the case.
Hindsight is always 20/20.

I agree with dan any time you do a timing belt and the water pump is driven by it, you do both. specialy over 100000 miles. tensioners fall in the same category.
