vibration troubleshooting Sign In

I have a2013 chevy tahoe that I installed a new /used transmission. It originally was not shifting right so I had to have the transmission reprogramed. I also installed a new u joint on the end of the driveshaft where it hooks up to the rear end. When you get to 50-55 mph there is a vibration in the rear .I know it needs rear shocks but what is causing it to vibrate. Could it be the transmission or the torque converter or something else. please help

Used stuff AYOR of course. What was known wrong with the rear u-joint you replaced? Why just one? If one is bad and can be why not others or did you check off car? If not you are opening endless reasons for this vibration. I will say with some surety it's NOT shocks unless this Tahoe bounces over bumps is their primary job. Can check this with this sitting still.
I'm asking because if you don't see the reason for needing a common u-joint when removed that diagnosis or WAG was wrong so this needs professional work - totally understood it's very costly for good reasons it costs a lot of time and money to do this stuff.

Huge warning that web videos on what is wrong or most likely and "how-to" do fixes are not always true and not your exact issue so take those with a grain of salt the trades are NOT a video and you didn't even say that I can smell it,

Are you sure no rollers slipped when installing the u-joint? Did all the lock clips install easily?
