I have a 2006 Mercury Mountaineer V8 all wheel drive with 260 thousand miles. A couple of weeks ago the passenger side heater stopped working and I kept hearing clicking noises when first starting the heater up. I researched and was hearing the likely problem was the heater door actuator needing replaced on the passenger side. Got that replaced today and afterwards started it up and started the heater. The passenger side still blew cold air and the drivers side stopped blowing air all together. The noises continued. I have no idea what is wrong now. Please help!

Maybe you changed the wrong actuator.

Does this car have left and right temp controls?

Here is the one you should have changed.

Thst is the one we changed. However I found out the person who changed it did not plug it in as he should have. Lesson learned!

Yeah, that'll do it.

But that doesn't explain why you still have the noise.
