1996 Nissan pickup with 4 wheel drive. The AC won't work. The compressor and relays all check out and it has a full load of refrigerant. The push button switch on the dash has been check. The mechanic is at a loss as to where the problem may be since all components check out the when the compressor is jumpered, it all works. Anyone have any suggestion as to where to look?

Seems like the compressor doesn't get voltage to engage so chase that back to relay to low pressure cut out switch and on to fuse. The high side cut out could be interferring with pressure too high or defective so you really need to get both low and high pressures. Don't jump any three wire switches. Take pressure test with a day of about 80F or more and A/C on full blast with windows open at about 1,500 RPM with compressor staying on or forced on and those are the #s that can really help diagnose the problem, T
