1998 Honda Accord air doesn't blow hot OR cold Sign In

I've got a 1998 Honda Accord v6 that is having issues with the AC/Heat.

The blower works fine, and all the vents are pushing out air, but regardless of temp setting is only pushes out air temperature (as in, the temp outside the car).

I took it to Best One Auto and they said that it was an actuator. They offered to fix it for $2000. After some research, decided to try and fix it myself. Have the glove box and dash off, but the only actuators I can see seem to be working just fine.

When I change the temp setting, I can hear something click, the compressor for the AC kicks on and off just fine, just no change in air temp.

I can deal with the heat in the summer, but I can't deal with the window icing/fogging in the winter as this is my work car and I have to drive 15 miles to work (usually at night).

This one looks pretty easy to change. You have to remove the glove box first.

Guess I missed that one Unimpressed

Looks like the motor is, indeed, bad. (Still not sure why they'd charge $2k for this). Found out that I can just push the door with my finger to get the air working like I want until I can get a replacement.

Thanks!

You can move the door manually once you remove the actuator but you'll have to figure out a way to hold it in place. It will just flop back on it's own.

Now you know that shop is nowhere to ever go into again. they are thieves.

PS, the actuator really isn't that expensive, under $50 usually for an aftermarket.
