2001 Dodge Stratus making noises when using heat Sign In

I have a 2001 Dodge Stratus. This problem just started recently. I haven't done much car repair before, so I don't know when to start. (video: http://tinypic.com/r/zpee8/9 )

It seems that when I am turning left, that it stops squealing for some reason. I have not had a chance yet to test if it stops when turning right as well.

Does anybody know what is wrong or at least where I should start looking to fix this?

Thanks

I don't know what that video is supposed to be showing because I got nothing out of it.

If you are getting a squealing noise from under the car that goes away when turning in either direction, have your brakes checked as one of the warning sensors may be contacting the rotor.

Not under the car. From the AC system when turning it on heat (like it says in the topic)... probably AC as well, but I have no reason to turn it on in the winter. When I turn on the heat.. I get an awful squealing noise now.

I don't know what turning left has to do with the AC but it sounds like you are describing a problem with the blower motor.

I don't know what it has to do with it either.. but I've also never done AC repairs before.

Thank you, I will do more research on that.

If not "into" this just send it out. A/C uses same blower motor and A/C itself will come on in Winter when defrost or a mix is requested but it isn't the noise.
Blower motors can make strange noises that I would hope would go away or get worse with speed requested of BLOWER.

Video was of no help. Just showed the radio and info center. Perhaps shut that off if you want to hear a noise and not what's on the radio?

What? Are you serious? There was nothing playing on the radio. It was paused.

Not the point now. That site gave me a problem and continued on to other videos or started with one you didn't intend.

Doesn't matter as said - this is making noise and can be found. Pretty much not much has to do with noise and heater use except the blower and why on a turn matters is a mystery.

Can't compete with someone diagnosing this in person vs the forums or web. For all I know you are hearing an engine belt make noise so far,

Okay. Would an engine belt only make noise when turning on the heat, though?

It could if it also drove the AC compressor
