2010 Chevy Equinox heater/AC not working Sign In

Hello,
Recently my 2010 Chevy Equinox has begun to have issues with both the heater and AC. While running the heat it seems that only the fans are running, and no warm air comes out. Likewise, when the AC is turned on the fans run, but none of the cold air comes out.

I've been seeing possible culprits being a blown fuse, blower motor, control module, or the compressor. Is there any other likely sources for the issue other than these?

Any help is hugely appreciated.

Going on that you mean blower for system works and not confused with fans for engine - right?
Did you find a blown fuse? I didn't take your comment as clear on that. No blower = little air of course. Why if so would be high draw from blower motor itself or perhaps you have a debris problem?
Have to guess as there are a couple possible easier things but do rule out total obstruction by debris, usually foliage of fine needles or critters making a nest you may have to take blower motor and cage out to see then clear it out if so. Evidence of that they usually find some hood insulation or any they can chew up for a nest.

Other: Quite possibly an electric actuator for directing where air flows is stuck or broken. This could be just where it defaults when battery disconnected sometimes or by bad luck chance. That actuator should be on passenger's side and sorry I can't tell you exactly how to watch it work on each model of everything. Look for a device outside heater box where/near heater core and evaporator are.

If no noise from blower fan at all say so as that's a different direction to be chasing down,

Do we even know if the compressor is operating?

Re: 2010 Chevy Equinox heater/AC not working Sign In

I've identified several fuses that I'll be checking once I'm home that are connected to the AC and compressor. I tried to see if the compressor was starting, but I couldn't get any sight on the compressor clutch to see. It's off to the side on the Equinox 2.4L engine.

What I mean by the fans are blowing, is that I can turn the dial from 1-10 for the fan speed, and the fan adjusted it's speed accordingly. However, if I toggle on the AC, the fans still blow at the same speed by the airflow isn't any colder. Likewise, if I turn it to heat, the fan speed stays the same but the airflow isn't any warmer. These problems occur sporadically, the AC might work one time without issue, and when I shut off and turn back on the car later on, it doesn't work.

I hope this was clarification. Thank you

It is very apparent that this is far beyond your capability to resolve. You just need to get this to a competent AC specialist to find out what is wrong with it.

More confused as now you just said you can "toggle" a switch and it works then doesn't. Time to send this out as HT suggested. You are having too much trouble explaining what it's really doing or not with air flow or not then throw in temp doesn't change. Why would you notice temp anything is zero fan power when checking -makes no sense to me can't help at all from here - send it out,
