Odd Thing! My blower turns to low when it is on high and goes higher as I turn it left to low setting. When I turn to "OFF", it does not turn off. Is my control bad?

How did this start?
Has anything been changed on the truck?

No. I did not change anything on it. Sunday it was fine. On my way to work, i turned it on and low became high and high became low. On OFF it is just very low.

I am thinking the knob may have felt a little loose. It was hard to tell. Does not feel that way now.

Not sure. Maybe something moved inside the switch? Funny how it is backward though.

No, not likely. Check the knob first and then you are going to have to do some signal testing at the blower resister.

I tried changing the resistor just to see. No change. Everytime I turn the knob I hear clicking. I found the small relay box next to the resistor. Could this be the issue? Also, when I turn on the A/C, it does come on but the little orange light no longer lights up on the A/C button.
I appreciate any feedback.

I advised to test at the resister, not replace it. Testing the signals arriving there would tell you what's going on with the switch. Nothing is for sure until some testing is done but it sounds like you have some issues with the control head.

Sorry. I know you said that. I am not that good at testing. Took about 2 minutes to change it. I will just take it back. When you say control head, do you mean the backside of the switch on the dash?

The entire assembly has to be tested for all functions

Hi.
I have been working on this. I am trying to find where the ground is. Do you know where it is connected?

Why, have you determined there is no ground at the motor? How did you do this?

Hi. I worked my way back to the switch. I found the lights around the blower knob did not work as well as the recirc light and A/C light. They worked, but no light. I figured something must be wrong with the control. I installed a new used one and all is good. Works normal and lights are all on now. I put in a whole climate control panel with the 3 knobs. It was easy and took about 5 minutes.
