A/C Whirring noise Sign In

I just got some repair work on my fan on a 2006 Cruiser. The fan wasn't turning on and the A/C was overpressured. A new fan and A/C recharge and i was good to go.

Now when I turn off the engine the fan makes a sound of an air raid siren coming to a stop. By no means is it that loud, but I've never heard that before the repair.
It sounds like this YouTube clip at the 3:22 mark

It seems that I only get that sound if the A/C was turned on. After looking on the internet for others with similar problems, I came across this video:

How serious is this. I will be driving 4000 miles next week into hot temperatures.

You can post links to your own pictures and videos only

You state your fan makes a noise but you post videos of compressor noises.

Why don't you just bring it back to the guy that put the fan in and tell him it's making a noise.

I don't know if it's the fan making the noise. I just had the A/C recharged, a whole new fan assembly also. I posted the video with a similar sound, and possibly the A/C clutch.

If it is the a/c clutch, what would could happen if it's not functioning right? Could it cease, and possibly rub the crap out of the serpentine belt, or would I simply have no a/c?

It can fail in a number of different ways and it could do either of those things.
