A/c cooler on driver side vs passenger Sign In

I have an 04 dodge 2500. Independent driver/passenger temp control. In the summer im about 15-20 degrees warmer on the passenger side. I have a scan tool but nothin to read bcm. I tried back probing the hvac control module but either all data schematics are junk or module is junk. I removed the dash thinkin i had a bad blend air door. Ran 12v in both directions on both motors. Both open and close normally. Now my air flow does what it wants regardless of knob position. Is there a way to check bcm codes, or recalibration without chrysler diag tool?
Thanks

There are many aftermarket (professional) scan tools that will read the HVAC system. You might have a problem with the control head but you need the scan tool to do some testing.

No flash codes though? Thats unfortunate. Looks life ill live with it or throw parts until i can afford a better scan tool.

That can get REALLY expensive.

So can professional grade scan tools. Its gotta be control module, wiring, or motors. Im not positive but I doubt the actuation signal goes through the BCM. Im guessin there is just a signal going to the BCM for diag. I dont know, but either way I appreciate your input.

I guess paying someone that has the equipment to diagnose it for you is not even on your radar, huh? That may be your cheapest way out.

not completely, i dont want anyone to work on my stuff but as far as checking codes or performing function tests i could probably look into that! which "professional" grade scan tools can provide communication with all/most of the modules?

Starscan and DRB3 are the dealer level tools and the most comprehensive. Most of your enhanced scan tools such as the ones sold by Snap On, Mac, Matco, and etc. should have the capabilities to access most modules. Find out what capabilities the tool has by contacting the manufacture of the tool. If you buy new, your into thousands of dollars. If you buy used, you can probably get a good deal, but you have to be careful of clones and knockoffs.

It also needs to have the most recent software.

I'm sure you'll probably already done this.....but with any a/c cooling problem like this.....You always want to start off knowing the system has a full charge...Sometimes when a system gets a little low you can get problems like that where one side won't cool as much.....

Recover the system and recharge it 1st....

You gave him a cookie, Sid. I'm sure he is driving to Walmart to buy a suicide kit to blast the system with now. LOL

Re: A/c cooler on driver side vs passenger Sign In

Well selling it will definitely fix the problem........If the charge is good then you probably are looking at a blend door prob.......One way you could confirm this is pinch off the heater hose lines and see the temps come into range...
