I have a 99 ford ranger, I am completely starting fresh with a recharge. I vac. the system and started refilling the system, I am at 130psi on the low side and still negative on the high side and the compressor wont kick on. does anyone have any ideas??

Yes, bring the car to a shop that knows what they are doing. You are going to do some serious damage here. What you're saying isn't even possible unless you don't know how to hook up or read the gauges.

Are you using a scale to recharge this system? If not, stop what your doing. If your charging by pressure, you'll have to recover the system and do it by weight.
If you attempting to charge the system through the high side with the engine running, that is an excellent way of turning a 12 oz can of refrigerant into a bomb.

You either have a problem with the high side schader valve not opening or there is a problem with your gauges or coupler.

Can you give up some background as to what happened to the system?

I am NOT charging through the high side. The system was empty upon starting, the tag on the truck calls for 1lb 14oz of freon. Last time i did the math that was 30oz total. Like i said the low side is reading 130psi and the high still reads negative from the evac. and compressor wont run. the compressor did run before, the system was emptied because the ac was not blowing cold air.

Like I said, That's impossible and you don't know how to hook up your gauges. This section of the forum is here to assist people with extensive refrigeration experience already which you clearly do not have.
