If you set the AC blower to 2 instead of 4 (max in my car) does it save gas or does it create less strain on the engine? Or once the AC is one does the blower not matter as far as engine and gas performance?

The blower itself won't have an affect on engine performance. Fuel mileage difference would probably be so minute you wouldn't even notice.

With the ac compressor engaged that will affect fuel mileage due to the extra load being put on the engine.
