Easy fix or total replace? A/C blows warm. Every 10-15 mins of driving it seemed to blow cold.

One day my AC started blowing warm air. However after driving a while the AC would come back very cold then after a few minutes go warm again.

I recently took the car for inspection. His notes read:

A/C compressor receiving 14 volta clutch not engaging pressure relief valve leaking not sure if due to valve gone bad or system getting clogged. Further diagnosis is needed. System had 1.31 lbs of r134a filled to 1.60lbs.

The mechanic told me that I would need to replace either the whole compressor or the entire a/c unit at a cost of 1700.00. I know nothing about cars and wonder if this is accurate? From reading his notes I am wondering if the pressure relief valve could be replaced instead? I'm wondering why when it kicks in it blows very cold air randomly if the whole thing needs to be replaced? I will include the photos he sent me of the compressor.

Will someone please advise? I greatly appreciate your honest opinions. Thank you.

You really need to post the Year, Make, Model of this first. There's nothing to go on here but some price and that it can work and quit on it's own and come back is interesting is about it so far,

If you don't come back with what this thing even is this thread is useless. Locking it as it attracted suggestion which are pointless for all anyone knows this is some kind of Golf Cart?

Start over with info if you wish to continue please,
