Heating/AC controls

Have a 2005 Buick LaCrosse. Have problem with h/c system. Dual controls. The passenger side controls work perfect. However, when I turn it to "AUTO" or manual to A/C only on the driver side controls, get heat out of the system on the drivers side. The lower I set the temp number the more heat is blown out. At the same time the passenger side works fine. Thanks, Bob

The first thing to do when this happens to any car and especially the dual control systems is to get operating pressures taken. It's possible for one side of an evaporator to be cold and the other not or even iced up (won't transfer heat) when entire evaporator should be the same temp. Pressures could tell that and and would show a low charge unless it's been messed with and overcharged, such that hopefully a small leak can be found and fixed. If that tests out then controls, duct actuators or ducts themselves and sensors are all in the cards T
