Not Enough Heat/Air Sign In

My wife's 02 Sebring's AC hasn't been cooling properly. Now that it's getting cooler it's not heating properly either. Her AC system checks out pressure wise. It may be inconsequential, but pieces of the cabin filter have been blowing out of the vents as well. I'm thinking she's not getting good heat exchange for both. Do cars use the same heat exchanger (heater core) for heat and AC? I know heat works off coolant circulation and AC has it's own system but thought they may use the same fins. I'm thinking the filter has limited air circulation by the exchanger, or maybe a vent isn't opening or something. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Re: Not Enough Heat/Air Sign In

The air flow should go thru A/C's evaporator then thru heater core obviously plugged up now by your post. IDK if you can clear it out thru blower motor and compressed air or a lot of work to take it all apart to clear out,
