Hi guys. I need some advice!

I have the above model car and my AC is not cooling enough. All components are fine, but the thermostat cuts off at 10 degrees Centigrade.

Please advice me on the following...

1. What is the recommended temperature the thermostat should cut off?

2. How can I drop it to about 5 - 1 degrees Centigrade?

3. Is the thermostat on this car model adjustable?

Thank you in advance for your advice.

What model year is this "Starlet?" Last I even know of was now ages ago would be R-12 that being sold to the US.
It's not cooling to your expectations then it's not all OK and there isn't a "thermostat" for it other than your request inside. The coldest you should ever have vent temps is and has to be safely over the freezing temp or it would ice up.
Pretty much you don't change it you fix it to work as intended new. If not pleased with performance it's either a fix or vehicle was never really concentrating on HVAC as that important vs some other purpose more important like MPG ( lower fuel consumption) so other features suffer. If up to spec and not happy it's not the right car for you or the conditions it's used in.

BTW - A/C is not a DIY trade area rather a sub specialty of it's own. AYOR touching it at all it's easy to destroy a system can quickly get very costly,

The thermostat monitors the temp at the evaporator to prevent freeze up. Naturally the air temp will warm some before reaching the duct and the older the car, the more the foam seals have deteriorated and allow warmer cabin air to mix with the cold air before reaching you so if you are getting 50F degree temp out of the duct on a 1996 vehicle, you are doing very well and should leave well enough alone. You can only make it worse.
