Trying to identify part Sign In

Hello, I am new here and hope someone can help me. We are having ac problems with our 1994 Ford Ranger. We have tried to recharge our unit and heard immediate pressure release from this part I am trying to identify. I don't think it is a "Ford authorized" compressor. It looks like a valve of some sorts has broken. Totally confused. I cannot upload photos for some odd reason, but I do have them.

The best advice I can give you is to walk away from this and do not turn it on again until you can get it to an AC specialty shop. You cannot simply add refrigerant to a system without knowing exactly how much is in it. It sounds like the emergency blow off valve kicked in.

AC is not a DIY job that you learn as you go. You can easily destroy the whole system by doing what you are doing.

What are the system's low and high side pressure readings with the ac turned on?
