1983 chev caprice classic station wagon, 5.o liter engine 182,000 miles. I changed the heater core and heat control valve and air is only warm coming out. It was hot b4. the heat control valve was frozen in the closed position and leaked. the new one is different but what the booked called for at the auto supply store. the heater core was also leaking, thats why I changed it. the hoses going to and from the heater core are hot

Re: heater Sign In

With the engine at full operating temp, locate the 2 heater hoses where they go into the firewall and feel them to see if they are both hot to the touch. If not too hot to hold, then you have to look at the actual engine temp and if that is up,

Re: heater Sign In

? Doesn't this core come out from under hood? Like almost or really break the case some to get to it? IDK, air could be going around it if not exactly in place,
