heating system makes a whirring noice when turned on Sign In

year
when I start up the vehicle and turn on the defrosts it is usually fine, but will start to make this high pitch whirring noise. then when I hit a bump, or put on the brakes the noise will start as well. I turn off the heat, and then turn it back on and the noise goes away. It now seems that I have lost all air flow on fan setting 1 through 3. I have traced the noise and it is not coming from the engine itself, but from something else under the dash or at the back of the engine compartment. I was hoping you could point in the direction of what I need to fix to get me heat working again.

You probably have a blower motor failing and not the overload of the bad motor has also burnt out the blower resister. You likely need to change both the motor and the resister.
