Just bought a 1997 dodge 1500 ex cab v8 with a 13 in fabtech lift and 3 in body lift. I believe its a 4 link solid axle set up in the front and a leaf spring set up in the rear. You can tell the trucks been through a lot and that it was pretty well put together but its obviously on the decline. I cant afford to put more than 500$ worth of mechanical work into it so im trying to do the most i can myself. The major things im worried about is its leaking oil in the front and rear, the previous owner tied a towel around the leak in the front, i dont want to touch it. There is a small part on the fabtech lift on the front left wheel suspension thats bent at the joint, i need to know what to do to fix it, or if i need it replaced, and how much it would be.
Also, the steering allignment is off, i think because of what i just said about the fab lift, and the tire allignment on the wheels, wheel tread, rear leaf springs being slightly crooked, and the bolts binding the suspension together not being tight enough. Im not a mechanic, but thats from my personal inspection. i want to get it running without having to worry about anything. Take a look at the pictures and tell me what you think.

We don't communicate through direct e-mail, nor do we discuss car issues in private message.

If all you have is $500 to make this a truck again I suggest to take on a different project. You're going to need to add another 0 to that figure to take this project on.

Yikes - you are NOT a mechanic with an altered truck with known alignment problems and a $500 buck budget. Not going to happen,
