2011 Nissan Versa HB 90k "Your wheel could fall off"

So I went to have my oil changed and have an inspection done and the mechanic called me and started with his speech about how my wheel could've fallen off etc and that I needed to replace the control arm and the sway bar asap.
So I decided to get an estimate, bring it back home and check myself if there was any problems.

It's pretty obvious in this picture that the upper control arm(?) is rusted pretty bad and needs replacing but I want to know if it's still safe to drive while I wait for the repair? Or is my wheel's gonna "Litterally fall off" while I drive?

What upper control arm? It's a strut suspension. It doesn't have one. That picture doesn't show any problems but you didn't take a picture of the parts he is talking about.

So I guess that would be the control arm?

He talked earlier about the control arm but in the estimate it says "suspension arm with joint"

Yes, that is the control arm but your pictures don't help.
What is supposed to be wrong with them?

He just said they need replacing and my wheel could fall off. I got no vibrations, car goes forward with no problem when I release the clutch etc.

Just go get a second opinion. We can't inspect it from here.
It does sound like they are using scare tactics.

Thank you, I will get a second opinion from another mechanic. I tried taking better pictures but he screwed the nuts so hard I cant even remove them and check myself(That would be nice if I had a flat)

That's just a picture of a ball joint. We can't tell anything from the picture. Just get a second opinion.

I thought that the fact that the ball joint is kind of squished indicates a problem?

No, it doesn't. That's simply a rubber boot covering the joint.
