Mazda 3 wheel problem! Sign In

Hello, I have a 2009 Mazda 3 with a couple of problems. After hearing a strange noise when braking I jacked up the car to check the front brakes and found that on the front passenger side, with the brakes depressed the wheel can be moved about an inch either way. The brake disc is clearly locked in place but the wheel and hub move a bit. Any thoughts on that?

The second problem is that the front passenger seat is stuck in the full upright position. I took the seat out and there is an inch or so of slack in the cable connected to the seat back adjustment lever. I couldn't see any way to get to wherever the cable goes inside the seat, any suggestions?

That means you either didn't have the wheel off when you were checking it or the lug nuts were not tight. It's the tightening of the wheel that stops that.
