Power steering cooler splits open after flush =coincidence?

Power steering cooler splits open after flush =coincidence?

2007 Dodge Grand Caravan 3.3 L about 85000 km.
I took it to Canadian Tire and they recommended and completed a power steering flush. 10 days later the cooler hose split and leaked all of the fluid. I thought it must be related to the flush somehow like they over-filled the fluid(??). But they say its totally unrelated and want to charge me another $400 for cleaning up the engine and replacing the part. Is this really a coincidence?

Why does everything have to be a mechanic's fault?
My computer has been acting up since I read your question. Maybe you caused that. That makes more sense than your logic.

Coincidence unless you yourself can prove otherwise. We are not there to see it and you have no proof, so they are innocent until you can prove them guilty.

I appreciate the replies however I was hoping for a comment on the possibility of these two issues (the flush and the split/leak) being related. For example is it possible that the pressure in the system changed, or that the stop leak/conditioner deteriorated the hose. The comments I received are pretty vague, not very helpful and one of them is just taking the chance to be sarcastic.

Yes, I am being sarcastic because I'm really fed up with people that want to blame everything on someone else with no proof or reason other than you're looking for someone else to blame.
The cooler is in the return side of the system and sees virtually no pressure at all. Your title states the cooler split but you question refers to a hose so I don't know which it is. Nothing in that vehicle can generate the sort of pressure it would take to split open a healthy metal pipe or cooler, however metal rots and corrodes to cause failures. Maybe you can blame that on the weatherman.
If a rubber hose just deteriorated, that's a pretty normal failure.

a diagnoses based on the limited info cannot be done...
WHY was system flushed? see Chrysler TSB 26-003-07* and 26-01-009
how was system flushed?
what fluid was used?
exactly what failed?
*synopsis Chrysler Group vehicle fluid systems do NOT require regular flushing.

What method did they use to flush the power steering system? Did they have to remove the hose that failed later to flush the system?
