Strut spring orientation and strut mount tension nut Sign In

2017 Nissan rogue awd 2.5 L
Put in Monroe struts 73074/5 and strut mounts 902110
Used old springs only year old. Spring fits in the guide both ways but spring sits flat on floor only one way. Which way should spring go? Seems strut mount fits fully one end better than the other.

Installled struts and hear rubbing noise when turning and leads me to 2nd question of how tight should top strut mount nut be snug to the bottom or just off bottom?

I don't know about your spring issue without some pictures.

As for the rubbing noise I would guess there is an issue with the upper mount, possibly touching the fender housing.

The upper bolts should be fully tight.

The strut mount can't be too tight.
