Put an amp clamp on the DSL electrical circuit and monitor current in the circuit when the PCM commands the DSL solenoid to energize. At the same time using a scan tool monitor the engine rpm and turbine speed sensor to see if lock up occurs and lockup disengages. It would also be wise to use a scope and capture the turbine speed sensor waveform to be sure you don't have any anomalies when the problem is occurring. If the PCM commands and you see current flowing in the DSL circuit, but you have excessive slip speed during lock up or if the PCM drops command and you see no current flow, but you have no slip speed after disengagment, remove the upper valve body and check for valving issues. If no issues are found, replace the torque converter. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
