05 gmc 2500hd tranny overheating

have a 2005 gmc sierra 2500hd slt 6.0l the transmission has a small leak pretty sure its the cooler lines but its also overheating when driven about 25 miles or more had tranny flushed and fluid n filter replaced going to do lines next don't know if anybody out there has a anwser but any would help it dosent slip or shift hard runs fine only problem i had is that i wouldnt go into any gear at all 1 cold morning i live in vermont so it does get very cold

Have truck scanned there will be, memory codes that should lead you in the right direction. make sure cooler is clear of dirt (cooling fins not plugged). If it's allison tranny there is a spin on filter that should be changed restriction can cause heat and lack of flow.

First step is getting the codes could be TCC (torque converter clutch) not engaging.

yeah the cooler is clean where and what could i have that scanned any ase cert shop live in small town

It's hard to say depends on what scanner.. I'm not 100% sure if they will be able to read live data from the tranny to see what's happening. It all depends on what they have.
