1988 F-150 4x4 tranny

It wasn't hitting first. Then reverse quit. I took off the boot and looked at it and it apears there was some sort of spacer washer that has disinigrated. I lifted the gearshift to where it should be and first works but still no reverse. Any ideas or links to diagrams would help

Benton, I'm not a transmission junky but if you are finding broken parts you are in trouble! You asked for diagrams and I don't have them but you didn't even state whether this was a standard or automatic. We are good but not that good. T
