The facts: 1991 Mazda Protege. Four cylinder. 135,000 miles. Manual transmission. Engine is strong. Gears engage easily. No grinding of gears heard. There APPEARS to be no slippage of clutch while driving. Does not pop out of gear while driving. But here is the problem: There is a rumble felt and heard while accelerating coming from the transmission. It only happens while under acceleration. It does not happen while keeping speed - only while accelerating. Any thoughts? This may not be a trans issue at all but perhaps an exhaust something or engine/trans mount allowing too much travel and parts touch making the noise. YOU hold the cards before buying it. If seller says no then look for another IMO.
