1995 Jetta Clutch/Slave Cylinder Question

I was driving on the highway in my 1995 5 speed VW Jetta in 4th gear. When I tried to go into 5th, there didn't seem to be any pressure behind the clutch pedal, and I could not switch into any gear like there was a 'wall' blocking me from shifting into it.
The clutch pedal will now stick to the ground when pushed in and can only be brought back up when you pull on it.
I believe I need to replace my slave cylinder but I cannot find where it is. I have searched online for hours and cannot find any pictures of this either.
Can someone please help? It would be really nice to have my car back.

That's because it doesn't have one. it uses a cable instead.

Could be many things but most likely a broken cable.

Then I guess you're actually going to have to do some inspection and diagnosing then.

If the cable, pedal & fork are all fine with normal travel distance when applied then the problem is more than likely going to lie in the clutch assembly and the tranny is going to have to come out.....
