1995 Mitsubishi 3000GT Automatic 3.0 Non-Turbo 100K miles. So I had the car up on its side to swap out a starter and I noticed a small tranny leak. After I swapped it out, I adjusted the tranny fluid level (it was low) and now it's leaking even when level & more significantly. It's coming from these 2 bolts near the passenger side axle. Thoughts? Is this the axle seal? Thanks!

I had the car lifted on a jack stand from the jack point on the passenger side skirt is what I meant. It was unlevel. That is when i noticed it started leaking. Would a broken CV boot cause a transmission leak?

No, but it would account for that grease splattered all over the place. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Thanks. Any idea the cost to repair a CV boot?

You just replace the whole axle. Assuming this is a front halfshaft, you can buy a new one for under $75.

Huh? Quote >"I had the car lifted on a jack stand from the jack point on the passenger side skirt....<" Kinda looks like you supported this thing by the joint if you look at it again even the clamp seems a bit messed up. Car wasn't level? So you did what? I'm not so sure this is going to be so simple to fix never mind the boot and why it's leaking out, T

Hello, That may be leaking from the seal, clean it down and let it run to be sure where the oil is coming from. Gary
