I was driving down freeway 65 miles per hr I let off the gas and my Explorer started making a sound like it was reving up but the tach indicated 900 rpm when I came to a stop the transmission made a hard thump but it continued driving for about 10 miles but started making sounds like it wasnt in gear all the way. I stopped and checked fluid it was OK. When I tried to put in gear it started banging and jerking. from then on I had no high range 2 or 4 wheel . But I still had low range and all gears in that range do you have any Ideas?

Transfer case may have ate it. Your going to have to get it checked out at a tranny shop to confirm. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
