1996 mazda 626 auto

I have a 1996 mazda 626 lx 140 k miles automatic and is not changing from 2nd to 3rd gear also it takes to long to shift to the 2nd gear . any idea what the couses be, thanks .

Just said on another unreleated thread. Trans - automatics have a life expectancy for wear items alone. They plain wear out and need an overhaul at those miles wouldn't be a surprise. Can and do some go lots more - YES but at some point expect to overhaul one. Engines will generally last longer if cared for than the automatic trans - all IMO and with some 200 of my own cars over a ton of years, T
