Hi everyone I am having problems with my 1999 Explorer and was hoping you may help. I have an intermittent "o/d off" symbol flashing on the dash. I did turn the car off and it would go away. After driving for a while (especially if driving over 55 mph) it would come back on again. I checked the transmission fluid and it is good, I just got an oil change and those guys said its good too. Any ideas? My knowledge of car transmission is very limited, I looked under the car and about 2/3 of the way up there is a part that looks wet while everything else is dry. I included a picture. Thank you all very much http://i1257.photobucket.com/albums/ii519/requiem131/20130408_211654.jpg

Hard to get any detail out of that photo when its taken that far back. Your OD light flashing is telling you that the transmission control module has stored fault codes. You need a high-end scan tool to read them, a generic code reader won't do it. It would be worthwhile to swing by a trans shop and ask them to have a look at it for you. They may be able to stop a small problem now from turning into an expensive overhaul later.
