2000 mazda b2500 clutch slave cylinder connector Sign In

Hello everyone this is my first post to your fine forum.
2000 mazda b2500 2.5 liter single overhead cam 2 plugs per cylinder
After cruising 230k miles on the same clutch, it finally crapped out.
I installed new clutch and pilot bearing and I started bleeding the clutch.
The hydraulic connector from the master cylinder to clutch slave cylinder will not stay connected.
I push it in and I can not pull it out bare handed without compressing the locking fingers in the female connector
with the ring on the male connector. But when I start to get pressure to the slave cylinder it pops out.
The only thing I can think of to address this problem is to replace the slave cylinder. Are there any options
that I'm not seeing?
