2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Sign In

Hey there guys.. I have a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, v6 Auto, 4.0L

I recently bought it from my sister because she was having tranny problems, so I pretty much got a good deal because of it..

What happened was, my sister was driving it on the highway one day and the transmission line came off and sprayed transmission fluid everywhere.. Instead of doing the smart thing and pulling over, she decided to continue driving like 2 more miles to the store.. Ever since then the tranny has been acting up real bad (even after putting tranny fluid in it)

In the current condition this is what happens:

When I drive it it seems like the engines driving just fine, but it goes super slow and the rpm's slowly creep up.. And sometimes when it comes up to about 2000 rpms, it wont shift itll keep creeping up, you have to let off the gas for a second for it to shift.. and it slowly gains speed...

Going up a hill (which I REALLY avoid)
say you have a lot of momentum and you turn a corner to go up the hill... BAM two seconds after the car is going like 5 miles an hour and just slowly creeps up the hill at 5mph.. Sometimes it will go halfway up the hill and just give out, so ill have to back up and turn around..

I obviously know this is transmission problems.. But im open to other suggestions?

Ive found a new transmission for 300 bucks, but I dont really have anyone to put it in for me, and cant afford the extra labor for a mechanic.. Im just wondering if its for sure the transmission and if I for sure need a new one, or if theres anything else it could be that would be a cheaper fix.. Thanks guys =)

Hello! A new trans for $300? Is it stolen? Whatever, if you don't have a clue and can't do this yourself than save up for a shop to swap it out. Make sure it's the right one,
