2004 Toyota Camry P0776 Code

I'm making this post for my Dad.
Our car had transmission problems a few weeks ago and my Dad ended up self-replacing the transmission with a new one. We still have problems and apparently the code P0776 showed up. From research we found out it has something to do with Pressure Solenoid Valve 'B' but we have no idea as to go about fixing this problem. My father thinks that after he bumped the car on the curb, he began to have problems with the transmission. When he drives the car, he has a difficult time shifting from 1st to 2nd gear. Anyone suggestions as to what we should do because spending $4500 at a mechanic isn't an option.
Edit: The code was there before we changed the transmission with the new. (Wish he told me that before he went off to completely replace the transmission)

Did he have the same code with the old transmission or is this just showing up with the new transmission?

Yes it was there before but my Dad didn't think too much about it. Turned out to be a big Y I K E S after he found out about it. So the current transmission we have is having the same problems as the old transmission to answer your question.

That tends to indicate that it's an electronic problem outside of the trans itself, assuming you didn't reuse any of the old solenoids.
Somebody knowledgeable is going to have to troubleshoot the wiring and Engine Control Module to find the source of the problem.

We figured it may also be a wiring problem, however, we've yet to replace the solenoid which is probably what we're gonna do next.

If it's a different solenoid from the previous transmission, it's not likely you had 2 of them fail the same way.
That's why I asked the question in the first place.
